Branding Yourself as an Expert: Blog Your Way to the Top!

I am a HUGE believer in blogging as a marketing tool. Blogging is no longer an online journal you share with tour family and friends- but is now a key part of marketing your web site.

Here is a great article from Business Week Magazine explaining some of the many benefits a business will reap with a blog. A blog is really a CMS or content management system- as easy way to publish content, articles, pictures and even podcast with the click of a button.
Any business can benefit from a blog. Branding yourself as an expert and becoming a new portal for your niche market will establish credibility and position you as an “authority”. Blogs increase long tail searches in search engine’s. A blog is crawled easily-and often by search engines. And most importantly blogs drive traffic- and not just any traffic but targeted traffic to you web site.
Have an online flower shop? Write about how to care for your fresh cut flowers or what flowers are in season this week. A real estate site with little or no traffic? Write about what makes a house sell- tips on homstaging or redecorating advice or whether or not installing an in ground pool will affect a homes value down the road.
Ideas are endless. It requires very little effort. A successful blog – one that stays current and fresh is one that stay current and fresh- you will need to post at least twice a week.
