Google Flux : Google Page Rank Update Sends Bloggers Into a Frenzy

Posts started to hit the Internet just after midnight Oct. 27, 2007. A second wave of Google PageRank updates slammed with full force. Most sites report heavy drops. Some of my own sites ( including this one ) took a few hits.

Many people are attributing the slam by Google as a big slap on the wrist for so-called paid links. Why is a a paid link different from advertising? I don’t know.
Particularly suspect are services like Text Link Ads. Sites and blogs who have inserted the Text link Ad scripts into their sites are removing them like crazy- thinking that somehow Google is penalizing them for using the service.
