PayPerPost/IZEA to Roll out Long Awaited and Timely ” Argus” aka??

Payperpost may be rolling out their new metric for bloggers any day now. Things have really heated up since MANY bloggers who use payperpost ( sometimes called “posties” ) saw dramatic drops in their Google Page Rank this month- Google has been heavily penalizing sites it suspects of “selling page rank”; i.e., paid links without nofollow tags.

There has been talk of a new metrics for several months. Most advertisers and posties have been unhappy with the current system of rating a sites “worth” and how much a post on particular blog is worth. Sites with PR5 see offers of $20-50 per post of approx. 100 words, regardless of traffic and overall content. A similar site with PR2-3 may only be offered 5-10.00.
Alexa traffic rankings can also factor in but is primarily Google’s PR that sets the bar. Changes have been promised to desperate posties who have seen their income plummet.

Today PPP announced they would be abandoning the name “Argus” and asked posties to comment on new possible name choices. They posted 4 possible choices.
When I read the possible names I honestly thought it was a joke. The names are just awful. My 10 year old daughter could come up with something better. Hell, so could my 5 year old.

Apparently I wasn’t the only one- a quick scan of replies and you pick up pretty quickly that no one likes the names. These guys must be getting punch drunk from working ‘round the clock or REALLY need to hire a new PR firm.
What are the new names choices for Argus??

Get ready for it:

1. bzzooka.com
2. wompow.com
3. tremblor.com
4. cloudshout.com

WOMPOW?????????? Tremblor? You have go to be kidding. I can kinda sorta see where they were coming from with cloudshout- but these are TERRIBLE!

Excerpt from PayPerPost Blog:

Still here? Ok…
Argus isn’t just an upgrade to PayPerPost.com. It is a completely new concept that is radically different approach than our current model. So radical in fact that the name PayPerPost fails to accurately portray what this new offering represents.
Sure, sponsored posts will be part of this new offering, but Argus is so much more than sponsored posts. Advertisers and Bloggers will interact in a whole new way in Argus. Heck, Bloggers can be Advertisers and vice versa under the same account. The tools we will provide for buzz building, traffic generation, ranking, social interaction, transparency, disclosure and analysis of campaigns will be unprecedented. Put simply you won’t recognize this system when we launch it.
The structure of the new marketplace will be completely foreign to all current PayPerPost users. The rules are changing and you will have to make some changes in your behavior to maximize the value the platform can provide you. Some of you will like it, some of you won’t… either way it will be your decision to make.
For these reasons we have decided to launch Argus under a new name and new domain. We have spent many cycles
