Page Rank Restored- Page Rank Zero Site Gets Back Some of its PR.

Its baaa-ack.
The insanity of it all. Google Gods have bestowed some page rank on one of my Page Rank Zero sites in the last few hours.

The site was a PR5, then a PR2, then PR0 and now a PR3. Anyone’s guess whether it will be there tomorrow.
None of my other PR0 sites have gained back any of its PR.

The PayPerPost posts and links still there. I do have nofollow tags on my paid links. Will be interesting to see what happens to the traffic. In previous post, http://www.bigfootwebmarketing.com/2007/11/19/visualized-impact-of-pr0-site-viewer-discretion-advised/ I showed graph of the sites traffic looking like Niagara Falls after getting a PR0 ten days ago.

Visualized Impact of PR0′d Site : Viewer Discretion Advised

This is snapshot of the traffic of one of my more popular blogs. It is ugly. This graph might cause some readers to feel faint or dizzy.

This had PR5 for last year or so. It’s page rank dropped in late October to PR2. Then last week when Google zeroed out page rank of sites who had any dealings with PayPerPost the rank became PR0. You can see the drastic drop in traffic from the graph below.

Most site owners would be nauseous looking at a graph like that. They might fire their SEO. I admit when I looked at it I was queasy. Okay, very queasy … until I looked at my other numbers.

How to Add NOFOLLOW Tags to Your Paid Links

After experiencing heavy drops in PR many sites and blogs are adding nofollow tags to their paid links. You are only required by Google to add nofollow tags to PAID links, not links in your blogroll or links in your posts that have not been paid for. If you do something like nofollow tags to your whole site then that causes other problems- limit yourslef to adding nofollow tag sto just your paid outbound links..

Add NOFOLLOW Tags: How Do You Make A Link nofollow ?

This is how a link looks in straightforwards HTML or if you are use link function with WordPress when writing an new post or page:

Visit This Guys Site

You add “rel=nofollow” WITHIN the anchor tag…. doesn’t matter where you put it.

After adding nofollow attribute to your link looks like this:

Visit This Guys Site

is same as this:

Andy Beard Pied Piper of PayPerPost or Emperor’s Tailor?

I cam home tongiht and noticed an unusual amount of traffic coming from one of my favorite sites and discovered Andy had amswered a question of mine in one of his recent posts. The post is titled : The Pied Piper Of PayPerPost?
and ins it Andy addresses Google’s interpretation of PayPerPost as gaming PageRank.

If you are interested in blogging as way to earn money then you may have heard of PayPerPost . There are no paid post on this site however , I do use PPP on other blogs and have made a chunk of money using the Pay-Per-Post service. I will post more in detail about PayPerPost in my Blog for Money 101 Series later this week.

I have worked as a link builder for a very successful SEO company. My job was to manage links and fin creative ways to garner links for over a 100 sites at a time. Link building can be a dirty word in SEO circles- until other SEO’s want you to list a handful of their site on your PR6 pages. I can say that many WELL KNOWN SEO’s who publicly claimed that reciprocal links or 3-way links had no value on popular forums would email me regularly to trade links.
