New Social Media Site ” Ravelry” has THOUSANDS on Their Waiting List

Knitting is NOT for Grandma anymore.

Social media phenomenal is really taking off. I feel like we are on the tipping point of something huge.

My husband just Skyped me ( I know… that’s how we communicate .. very sad. My four year old could Skype before he could skate- and we are CANADIAN for Gods sake!) about new site for Knitters and Crochet-er(s) called Ravelry. HE heard about it on his Wilco forum. Asked me if it was possible that there are thousands of people on the waiting list.
Yes it is. The anticipation is huge for this in knitting community.

All over the world ideas and communities are being born. Yes, half of them will be gone as well but it is exciting to be on the brink of the NEXT BIG thing… this Web 2.0 people have been talking about for last 2 years is REALLY happening!

Be Part of The Blog Game- Participaction Required for Success

Rudd Hein, of Search Engine People posts excellent and well written article of the need for bloggers to participate in the “community”. In his article, It’s The Participation Stupid He notes that if you’re not participating, you willingly give up mindshare and fail to influence. That blogging in world by yourself won’t get you very far. You need to “talk” about others in your field, link to them, comment on them.

You have to participate.

Absolutely dead on. Relationships are key to successful blogging. Not just with your readers- but other in your niche. Write about what others are doing in your field; what they are saying in their blogs? Comment on it on both your blog and theirs. Ask them questions- stir things up a bit.

Join various social medias to create contacts and meet other like minded people and BLOG about it.
