The “Long Tail” refers to the other searches people use other than “top” keywords; i.e. 10% of your site’s traffic may come from a handful of the same keywords. The other 90% of your traffic may come from hundreds or thousands of strings of keywords and keyword phrases. Many site owners and business spend their time and energy over the relatively few top keywords that only account for a small percentage of their traffic and ignore other opportunities.
