What is a Backlink? Sometimes called inbound link.

A backlink is a link from another site linking BACK to your site. Often called inbound link.

Getting sites to link to you will help your sites “authority” on a given topic;i.e . Owning a flower shop and having other flower/garden/gift related sites to link to you may help you with your Google Page Rank. Giving sites a REASON to link to you will get you inbound links.
